Educational Programmes

Education is the bedrock on which all other programmes are based. Getting a good education as a child is an essential building block to raising tolerant, well adjusted, healthy, and prosperous adults. Families where the parents complete Primary and secondary education have higher incomes, better health outcomes, higher life expectancies, and generally pass on those benefits to their children. By building and equipping Primary and Secondary schools in Rural areas, we create sustainable livelihoods for poor indigent children.

CORAfrica believes that a high-quality education is inherent right of all children and can prevent rural children from future poverty, abuse and exploitation. Our primary and secondary schools create an atmosphere where children can learn in small classes, benefit from high quality instruction, and are prepared for the challenges and oppurtunities of living in an increasingly globalized society. We provide holistic education for our students, encouraging them to grow academically , personally and spiritually while cultivating an environment of curiousity, creativity and enthusiasm.

JOHN STILLEY SECONDARY SCHOOL (PRIMARY SCHOOL BLOCK) @VICTORIA – IKOM

John Stilley Secondary School was founded in 2017 and is growing tremendously as over 304 students have been enrolled so far while others have had their successful examinations courtesy of support from the John & Denis Stilley Family. The Primary Section is yet to take off owing to logistic problems from the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC):

  • Students no longer trek long distances to school.
  • Registration for both junior and senior West African Examinations council’s examination is in process.
  • Parents Teachers Association is seriously engaging the community in awareness to education campaign and sensitization.
  • Teachers’ programs and trainings have reduced the challenges of the girl child teenage marriage and pregnancies.
  • The new class room block has reduced accommodation problems.
  • Sport competition has put the school an edge over other schools.
  • The Agric program has also immensely occupied the youths and prepared them for future sustainable agricultural ventures.
  • 70% of the youths are now involved in educational activities especially the girl child.
