Michael Abuo

Prince Michael Abuo is a distinguished public servant, environmental scholar and community leader. He is Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Interventions and Grants, and coordinator of the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD), the Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme and the Cross River State Political Network (CRISPON).

A graduate of Microbiology with an M.Sc. in Environmental Resource Management, he is pursuing a Ph.D. in the same field. He also holds an honorary doctorate in Public Administration from Escae University, Benin Republic, and represented Nigeria at COP26 in Glasgow in 2021.

His public service began in student leadership at the University of Calabar and St. Patrick’s College, Calabar, and has included roles as Personal Assistant to the Governor, Special Assistant on Students’ Affairs, and Director-General of the Cross River State Migration Control Agency.

A youth development advocate, political strategist and published poet and author, he is recognised for his work in governance, environmental sustainability, migration management and grassroots mobilisation. He is married with children.
